Why use a control map

A list of regulatory updates is useful for awareness but does not show what the business must examine. The APAC control map connects a requirement source to jurisdictions, regulated entities, controls, workflows, products, evidence, and accountable owners.

The map is a decision-support structure. It does not replace current legal advice or the primary text issued by a regulator.

Jurisdiction profile

Each jurisdiction profile should record:

  • Regulated entities and activities in scope.
  • Relevant regulators and primary sources.
  • Effective dates and transition periods.
  • KYC, KYB, AML, sanctions, Travel Rule, and reporting themes.
  • Data, localisation, outsourcing, and technology governance considerations.
  • Controls and products potentially affected.
  • Interpretation owner and review status.

Change impact workflow

  1. Capture the primary source and publication metadata.
  2. Classify the affected jurisdiction, entity, activity, obligation, and control.
  3. Identify linked products, workflows, policies, configurations, and evidence.
  4. Assign interpretation and implementation owners.
  5. Record the decision, target date, and validation evidence.
  6. Update linked documentation and configuration versions.

Knowledge status

Every regulatory node should show whether it is observed, under assessment, interpreted, implementation-ready, effective, or superseded. AI answers should disclose this status and cite the exact document used.
