Core terms

Control

A policy, process, system behaviour, or accountable human action designed to manage a defined risk or obligation.

Evidence

Information retained to show what happened, which requirement or configuration applied, who made or approved a decision, and what supported the outcome.

Obligation

A requirement derived from law, regulation, licence condition, regulator guidance, contract, or approved internal policy.

Policy version

The identifiable version of the institution's approved policy or operating rule used when a decision was made.

Reason code

A controlled, machine-readable identifier explaining a material factor in a route, decision, or exception.

Review memo

A human-readable summary of the relevant facts, analysis, evidence, and recommended or final action.

Workflow

A defined sequence of system and human actions that transforms inputs into an accountable outcome and retained evidence.

A UWAY-generated identifier used to trace a screening, case, exchange, or other operation across systems and evidence.
